Why LSC?
LSC was created to give young people opportunities.
Levi grew up in Southampton and understands how important the right environment, guidance and people can be during these years.
Together with his family, close friends and the team behind LSC, he wanted to create the kind of environment where their own experiences, including the good decisions and the mistakes, can be passed on to the next generation.
The goal is simple: help young people make the most of their potential, whether their future is in football or somewhere else entirely.
What is LSC Academy?
LSC Academy is a football and education programme based in Southampton for young people aged 16–18.
Founded by Levi Colwill, the academy was created to give young people an environment where they can develop both on and off the pitch.
Football is a huge part of what we do, but LSC is about more than developing players. Through football, education and the experiences of the people around them, we want to help young people develop the skills, confidence and character they can take into whatever comes next.
Better footballers. Better people.
More Than Football
Not every player who walks through our doors will become a professional footballer, and that’s okay.
LSC uses football as a platform to teach lessons that go far beyond the pitch: discipline, accountability, teamwork, resilience and confidence.
Success for us isn’t only measured by what happens on a football pitch. It’s about the person each player becomes while they’re here.
Who is LSC Academy for?
LSC Academy is open to young people aged 16–18 who want to continue their education while developing their football.
We’re looking for players who want to improve, work hard and be part of the culture we’re building.
Ability matters, but so does attitude. We want people who are willing to learn, support the people around them and represent what LSC stands for.

Our football-focused course covers a wide range of areas within the game, including coaching, physiotherapy, analysis, gym instruction and personal training.
Students work towards NCFE Level 3 qualifications in Sport and Physical Activity, Extended Sport and Physical Activity, and Gym Instructing and Personal Training. Across the two-year programme, students can achieve up to 270 credits, equivalent to three A Levels.
Students who still need to complete their Maths or English qualifications will also have the opportunity to resit these while at LSC Academy.
-
Our education is delivered in partnership with Juniper Education, one of England’s leading education providers, operating across the country.
-
Education and football are integrated throughout the programme. A typical day could include three hours of classroom-based education in the morning, followed by lunch and two hours of football training in the afternoon.
-
Players train three times a week, with competitive matches taking place on Wednesdays.
-
Our teams compete in the Tactic League, a competitive league featuring teams from across the South and South West of England.
-
The programme is primarily designed for students leaving secondary school, typically aged 16–18.
We also understand that everyone’s educational journey is different, so there may be opportunities for students who have missed a year of education to join and complete the full two-year programme.
-
No. We welcome players of all abilities who have a genuine passion for sport and football and a desire to develop.
Our aim is to improve each player’s footballing ability while also preparing them for their future. For some, that could mean pursuing a playing career. For others, it could mean building the skills and qualifications needed to work within the football industry.
-
We encourage prospective students to attend one of our trial days or open sessions first. This gives you the opportunity to experience LSC, meet the team and see what the academy is all about.
From there, you’ll be invited to sign up and complete a Stage 1 interview. Successful applicants will then progress to Stage 2, where their place at LSC Academy will be confirmed.
-
The programme is funded and backed by our CEO, Levi Colwill.
We do require a kit deposit when joining the academy, which will be refunded following successful completion of the two-year programme.

There are several pathways available to students after LSC, both on and off the pitch.
Through our links with Sholing, players have had opportunities to train with the first team and become part of the Under-18s setup. We also aim to create opportunities for players to gain senior football experience through loans with clubs in local leagues.
Away from playing, students can gain valuable work experience across the football industry, with previous placements leading to paid roles. There are also opportunities to pursue scholarships abroad and continue developing both academically and as a footballer.
-
We’ve already seen students progress into a range of opportunities within football.
Several students have moved into paid roles following work experience placements, while others have regularly trained within first-team environments. Players have also progressed into Under-23s football and earned loan opportunities, giving them valuable experience within the senior game.
-
The wellbeing of every student is extremely important to us.
We have a dedicated team of safeguarding and welfare officers, with support plans available for students who may have additional needs.
Our priority is to create a safe, positive and supportive environment where every student has the opportunity to thrive.
-
Yes. Students who haven’t achieved the required Maths or English qualifications can resit them as part of their time at LSC.
Resit sessions take place on Fridays, with exams taking place in May.
